From today's email

This week has flown by.  It was a pretty good one though.   We started teaching a family who was taught in the past but stopped investigating for some reason.  They are from England and they have 4 children.  Our Ward Mission Leader knows the father from work and their youngest daughter plays and comes to church with a member family.  When they moved here, the only people that were nice to them and reached out were the members that live in their neighborhood.  That really touched them so back in October they came to the trunk or treat and went on a tour of the church.  That was all the Elders were able to teach them.  The member family that lives by them gave them a Book Of Mormon, and when we taught them we found out that the mother of the family has read the ENTIRE thing!  She wouldn't say it in her own words but the way she talks about it makes it seem like she definitely knows it's true.  When we were teaching we shared some scriptures and they just so happened to be scriptures that she marked in her copy.  The father on the other hand will take a little longer.  He is committed to read and pray though.  She grew up catholic and he grew up with nothing so both of them are kinda on different pages which makes it difficult.  They were reluctant to commit to baptism just yet, (especially the father)  But they are progressing nicely.  We had another lesson last night with them and our Ward Mission Leader.  It went really well.  Their name is the Fryats.
 
Mark, Martha and James were not able to come to church because they were out of town.  But they are still solid.  We met yesterday and they are so sweet.  They asked for our forgiveness for not being able to come to church.  They are progressing nicely towards next saturday, the 17th.  That is pretty much it as far as the week goes.
Elder Gilbert is doing great.  He will be a BOMB missionary once he gets rid of this old fart.  He is already way better than me... and he is keeping me from not getting trunky.  Bishop Smith in the Lake Meridian ward asked us to speak on sunday.  This will be like my 6th or 7th time on my mission, and hopefully my last.. until my homecoming.  Anyway thanks for everything.  Send more pics of Lyla and your trip.
