Words from Elder Workman:

So basically this has been an amazing week. Even at the end of your mission, you continue to see miracles as you stay diligent. In fact, I think God gives you more miracles so that you will stay focussed until your very last day. Haha at least that's what it feels like for me. We don't even do anything to deserve the things that happen to us. So a couple weeks ago we were told by the Bishop of the Lake Sawyer ward about this Part Member Family we should visit. The Mom is an in-active member and the Dad is a non-member. They have 3 kids, 2 of which are baptized. The only one not baptized is their 11 year old Devon. And his grandma is in the relief society Presidency. Last thursday we felt inspired to stop by and introduce ourselves. We knocked on the door and their fully active Grandma was there and she was the one who answered. She invited us right in, sat us down on the couch and then brought out Devon the 11 year old. The first words out of her mouth after she introduced him to us were, "the Elders are here to talk teach you and talk to you about getting baptized. Is that still something you want to do?". Devon responded in the affirmative. We found out that he has been to church several times in the past with his grandma and also his older sister who is a member. After talking to Devon's mother and the Grandma and explaining the requirements for baptism, we agreed that the 14th of April would be an appropriate day for his baptism. They wrote it on the calendar and we scheduled appointments every day this week to teach him up until his baptism. We have taught him twice now, and he came to church yesterday. He turns 12 in a few weeks so the ward decided he should just go to class with all the deacons. He met all the kids and he really enjoyed it. The ward is way excited for him. They announced it in sacrament meeting and everything. He is really fun to teach.. he's your average 11 year old :)
We also talked to another Part Member Family in the Lake Meridian ward yesterday after church. They are all members except their 14 year old boy. No one knows why but for some reason he was never baptized with his mother and brother a couple years ago. We pulled him aside since he has been coming to church regularly with his family and asked him if he had ever thought about getting baptized. He said yeah he has been thinking about it lately.. so we asked him if he would like to get baptized this month. He said that he would like that. SO after church we went and talked to his parents about it. We showed them all the lessons we would teach him and we set up an appointment for wednesday. They are excited for him, but they just want to make sure we teach everything. God is Good! :)
